Niguel West | The Modern Roots Pushing Modern Design
Niguel West | The original modern neighborhood in Laguna Niguel and a mile from the coast. Designed by George Bissell of Bissell Architects in 1964, “it was an exciting project, because he was able to push the design that was very popular at that time, and do something that was forward reaching,” says Wells, who had interviewed Bissell before his death in 2010. “But he was able to do it at a higher quality than was being done in modernist-style development housing at that time.” The first neighborhood that started off original Laguna Niguel city with 73 post and beam, open floor plan, modern design. Nestled in the hills with some that have incredible views.
